ALI THOMAS

Born and raised in San Francisco, CA and graduated from the University of San Francisco.

 

Ali played for the University of San Francisco Dons Men's Basketball Team and still holds U.S.F.'s records for most threes made in a regular season (75) and most threes made in a career (235). Thomas also won more ProAm Championships than any other player in history.

 

Following his college career, Thomas played 10 years of professional basketball in the EuroLeague in countries including Germany, Slovakia, and Ukraine.

 

In 1993 Ali began his career as a basketball coach for teams and since then has served as a Volunteer Youth Coach for schools vincluding Town School for Boys, City College of San Francisco, The Hamlin School, OC Elite (The Olympic Club), and Brandeis Hillel Day School. Thomas is currently the St. Ignatius Boy's Basketball Assistant Coach and Assistant Athletic Director.

 

In 2013 Coach Ali Thomas joined Murray Athletic Development's Mind, Body, Skills Academy. Thomas coaches our clinics, camps, NBA combine training, and team programs. This includes three pro camps with the current Toronto Raptors Assistant Coach, Phil Handy, and former NBA player and coach, Mario Elie.

 

Thomas is also the current Assistant Athletic Director at St. Ignatius College Preparatory where is he is directly involved in all basketball related programs, program design for the summer Nike Basketball Sports Camp, and also coordinates the Boy's Basketball Internation Summer trips (Taiwan and Argentina).
